“God did not ordain that the church should drift aimlessly in the seas of uncertainty without compass, captain, or crew.”

Billy Graham

“Drunkenness. This Greek word means overindulgence in alcohol. Alcohol may be used for medicine, but it can also become a terrible drug. The way it is used in our world is probably one of the great evils of our day. It is a self-inflicted impediment that springs from “a man taking a drink, a drink taking a drink, and drink taking the man.” Distilled liquors as we have them today were unknown in Bible times.12”

Billy Graham

“One of the ironies of human nature is that it often has a way of rejecting the best and accepting the worst.”

Billy Graham

“Every stage of life has its own temptations and dangers, and Satan will do all he can to exploit them . . .the time to prepare is now, not when it arrives.”

Billy Graham

“The cross is the suffering love of God bearing the guilt of man’s sin, which alone is able to melt the sinner’s heart and bring him to repentance for salvation. “For he hath made him to be sin for us” [2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV].”

Billy Graham

“Every divorce represents a broken dream, a shattered hope, a ruined expectation.”

Billy Graham

“Long after you and I are gone, God will still be at work—and many of the things we prayed for will finally come to pass.”

Billy Graham

“The greatest testimony to this dark world today would be a band of crucified and risen men and women, dead to sin and alive unto God, bearing in their bodies “the marks of the Lord Jesus” [Galatians 6:17 NKJV].”

Billy Graham

“When we know Him, we can be sure God hears our prayers.”

Billy Graham

“The greatest vision of sin that a person can ever receive is to look at the cross.”

Billy Graham

“I don’t think people can live without hope. What oxygen is to the lungs, hope is to our survival in this world. And the Bible is filled with hope.”

Billy Graham

“Deep down inside I knew something was different . . . I wanted to tell others what had happened to me. I didn’t have any tears, I didn’t have any emotion, I didn’t hear any thunder, there was no lightning . . . but . . . I made my decision for Christ.”

Billy Graham

“The Bible is a living Book and can be trusted for its advice and direction and knowledge of God.”

Billy Graham

“One of the most conspicuous modes of escape is alcoholism, which is now a national catastrophe.”

Billy Graham

“He will give his angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways. PSALM 91:11 RSV A secret agent is one who seeks to protect his country, his king, or his president against evil forces that are opposed to the one he serves. The American Secret Service is charged with protecting the president of the United States. They do an excellent job, but even they will tell you that someone who is fiercely determined to assassinate the president could be successful. God has His own secret agents—the angels. Unseen and unrecognized by the world, they never fail in their appointed tasks. Much has been written recently about angels—often not based on the Bible but on popular legends. But angels are real, and God has commanded them to watch over us. Only in eternity will we know how many accidents they prevented or how often they kept Satan’s malicious spirits at bay. In the meantime, we can take comfort in their presence and thank God for the love He expresses for us through their service.
